RUSTY GEORGE

Rusty George started Bargaining Logics, LLC in June 2020

to support groups of people with diverse interests to create positive and lasting solutions through interest-based bargaining.

Rusty was a science teacher for 31 years and passionately inspired students to become the best versions of themselves. He recognized that the foundation of teaching was building positive relationships with students to create a learning environment where students felt safe to extend beyond their comfort zone to reach higher levels of learning. He used his passion and strong interpersonal skills within his classroom and as a mentor in his outdoor club and as a coach in basketball, climbing, and tennis. He received many accolades throughout his career including Montrose Teacher of the Year in 2019.

Rusty brought his passion and beliefs about relationships to his position on the school district’s negotiation team in 2007. Trained in interest-based bargaining by Jon Stewart and Jim Lang, Rusty became an integral part of the negotiation team’s process for ten years. He worked with fellow teachers, ESP professionals, principals, HR directors, superintendents, and other central office staff and Board of Education members in a structured process to find collaborative solutions to all the challenging issues that school districts face.

Rusty was certified by the Colorado Education Association in interest-based bargaining in 2020. In the 2020-2021 school year, he facilitated negotiations for the Montrose County School District
Re-1J and the Garfield District Re-2.
Seeing those results motivated and excited him to help negotiation teams use interest-based bargaining to reach positive outcomes for all the parties involved.

Rusty loves spending time outdoors, playing music with his wife, and enjoying time with his two grown children.
